Cheap and Cheerful Cafe Bar in Bridlington. 11 of 30 April Poems.
Richies Cafe Bar on the Promenade.
That’s where we ate our lunch,
Full of happy holidaymakers
Even this early in the season
11th April 2019, to be exact.

The sun is shining, the sky is blue
The wind is blowing, it's chilly too.
After a walk on the beach,
I picked up a pebble or two.
We watched the children,
Dogs and owners as well.

Feeling cold, we headed to
The Cafe for a warm meal.
Whatever the time it is busy.
Half Cafe, half Bar
Full of people, their
Children AND Dogs.
All there under tables.

Dogs and people of all sizes
Mostly obese which made
Me wonder, then I saw the
Size of the portions.
Mountains of CHIPS
With Fish, Pie or
Whatever you fancy.
I asked for Chips
With Curry Sauce.

My husband, Lasange
With salad and chips,
For both of us more
Than we could eat.
It is exactly as I said.
Cheap and Cheerful
Also good food,
good  and happy staff,
The owner, sweeping sand
From under the tables!
