Xena, the Puppy by marge. Poem 7 of 30 April poems.

Life is full of wonder,
For a twelve week old puppy.
Joys of food and water in silver dishes.

The fun of stealing a sock to chew,
Fear of seeing her first Seagull
Braver, as she barks the first warning.

Her owner's joy, when Xena falls asleep,
She snores noisily in her happy sleeping
Rest for her body after too much excitement.

She is large for a young puppy,
Coming from a lineage in ancient China,
A descendant of a fighting dog breed.

No fighting for her, being the
Pet of a family who will  treasure her
As part of an active, sporting and loving family.
